Award Winners--Myron Mayer, founder of a South Side men's clothing store, and Sister Mary Alvernia, executive director of the St. Joseph's Home for Children and the South Day Care Center, held the award which they were given by the Mitchell Street Advancement Association. Mayer was honored as Merchant of the Year. He founded the Mayer-Krom Company. Sister Alvernia received the association's Sound Citizen
