San Francisco - Dr. Walter B. Martin (R), Norfolk, Virginia, newly elected president of the American Medical Association, is congratulated by his predecessor, Dr. Edward J. McCormick (L), Toledo, Ohio, during business meetings of the Association. Dr. Martin, in a speech before the assembly, deplored the trend in modern medicine which is "separating the patient further and further from the physician as a counsellor."
