Mexican bean beetles and other insects cannot survive in this bean patch which is dusted regularly with equipment like this 16-spout duster. The advantage of the low toxicity in this new insecticide is that it can be applied right up to the day of harvest. Highly toxic insecticides are not used within the last month before harvest, often a period of heaviest infestation, because of the danger that harmful residues will be left on the plants.
