1921 Press Photo Thomas M Gale Home in Washington DC Bought by Herbert Hoover
The residence at 2300 South Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C. is the home of the late Thomas M. Gale, which has been purchased by Herbert C. Hoover, member of President-Elect Harding's Cabinet. It is practically certain that Mr. Hoover will be named Secretary of Commerce. The Gale property is in the same block as the residence recently bought by President and Mrs. Wilson for their future home. To the east of the house is a large walled garden, extending far to the rear. A large porch supported by colonial columns affords a view of the gardens and of the residential section to the south.
