Rogers, organ. His case was remanded to the criminal district court. The defendant's conviction and sentence have been automatically annulled, the opinion said. Graffam was sentenced to death on Friday, February 13, 1942, for the shooting of the 32-yeear-old waitress, of 226 Bourbon street, who had refused a reconciliation with him. He then turned the gun on himself. His life lay in the balance for some months before he recovered to face trial.
