1987 Press Photo Hope House's "Way of the Cross/Way of Justice" procession
Women put up signs for Hope House's "Way of the Cross/Way of Justice" procession. Dolores Plaisance lifted a wooden cross onto her back Friday morning and carried it from the state Supreme Court building, across Duncan Plaza to City Hall. About 200 people trailed behind her. Plaisance, a 51-year-old Marrero resident, is a clerical worker at the Gretna Courthouse. But Friday, she was one of those putting themselves in the place of Jesus Christ as he walked to his crucifixion.
