Groundbreaking ceremonies for a major Sears, Roebuck and Company department store in Jefferson Parish were held Tuesday at the proposed site of the structure at Veterans Highway and Clearview Avenue interchange of Interstate 10. Construction was started Tuesday on the new Sears, Roebuck and Company department store on Veterans Memorial Highway at the Clearview Avenue interchange of Interstate 10. Participants in ground breaking ceremonies included (from left) William J. Childress, James T. Richards, Charles J. Eagan, Jr., T. Sterling Dunn, Joe E. Dunn and Robert Walmsley.
