"Sampan Alley" on Perfume River in Vietnam. "Sampan Alley" stretches along Hue's Perfume River, with its closely moored craft lining the banks. Hundreds of families spend their entire lives here. The sampans have the reputation of being a fleet of floating brothels, many being rented out for one night stands. But large numbers of people who live and work in the city use their sampans strictly as private homes.
