Mayor Victor H. Schiro, right, buys the first ticket for "Community Relations Day at the Races" from Capt. Sidney H. Cates III, community relations director of the New Orleans Police Department, to launch a fund drive which has a goal of $25,000. The special day to benefit the department's community relations program will be held at the Fairgrounds March 20. The community relations division of the department carries on an extensive recreation program for the city's underprivileged youth each year.
