Girls play at Orleans Parish School.Federal funds will this school year buy some 69,200 culturally deprived New Orleans children a more promising future, a States-Item roundup indicates. Working with funds close to last year's $4.5 million, the Orleans Parish School Board's Special Projects Department will reach at least 900 more youngsters than last year and expand several programs, described by projects director Robert E. Wall as "vastly superior" to last year's.
