Ralph Shatz, manager of Barkers Jefferson Highway - The Irving Barker chain of discount stores opened a new facility on Jefferson highway today and took over management of present discount operations in the Gentilly and Westside Shopping Centers. The new store is a 213 Jefferson highway and covers 50,000 square feet. City and parish officials and entertainment personalities were on hand to greet patrons of the three establishments.
