Munich, West German--Castles so expensive to build that they broke the bank of one of history's most controversial kings, Ludwig II, embellish a fairy-tale land near hear. Our tour bus, which the day before had traveled the Romantic Road, headed toward the Bavarian Alps and Austria, stopping first at Linderhof Castle and Oberammergau. Obermmergau buildings feature religious murals.
