Airman 1/C Patrick J. Nugent, 25-year-old son-in-law of President Johnson, receives the Air Medal from Colonel John W. Pauly in Phan Rang, South Vietnam. Nugent has flown more than 400 combat sorties while logging 536 combat hours in C-123 cargo planes.
