Authorities today were searching the roads from Slidell to Bogalusa for a man and a woman hitchhiker last seen carrying a young baby and accompanied by a brindle dog, and suspected of being the parents of the new born baby left last night by a similar dog, wrapped in a piece of light gray blanket and whimpering with cold, in the clearing at the cabin home near Pearl River of Mr. and Mrs. Louis E. Crawford. Police Chief P.A. Saxon of Slidell early this morning sent out Deputy Sheriff Clarence Crawford, distant relative of Louis Crawford, to pick up the trail of the couple.
