Leopards. Chicago, Illinois "Snowball", a 12-year-old male leopard was killed today defending his mate "Diane" when five lions were accidentally driven into a cage with the leopards. The lions were let into the leopard's cage from an outside grotto for feeding, and before keepers could rectify the error a five minute battle had raged and "Snowball" had been killed. When the lions were finally driven from the cage "Snowball's" mate was found to be unharmed.
