Charles W. Yost holds the prestigious post of chief United States delegate to the United Nations. Appointed by President Nixon, he had spent 34 years as a career diplomat. He believes that the U.S. Mission must have a harmonious relationship with the State Department if the mission is to carry out its task - to get the official U.S. view across to the 125 other U.N. members.
